The home of grandma’s Carvery, available Monday – Friday served between 12.00 & 2.00pm with a choice of at least two Slow Cooked Roasts, a traditional Home Made Pie and a Special of the day, all served with a selection of six fresh vegetables and potatoes, homemade Yorkshire puddings and gravy. Dinner can be served in any one of our three dining rooms. These rooms overlook the gardens during the summer months or have the delightful pleasure of an open fire on those cold dark nights.
With an excellent food choice available on our individually priced A La Carte menu – changes seasonally or you can have three or four courses from our Fixed Price Menu, this menu is also is inclusive of coffee or tea and changes every 4 weeks.
All our foods are sourced locally where possible and we are extremely proud to have won a taste Durham award & local produce Champion award. We serve dinner from 5.30 pm until last orders at 9.00 pm Monday to Saturday and from 5.30 pm until 8.00 pm on Sundays.

For that extra special occasion that you are celebrating, from a Birthday from 1 to 100 to a Special anniversary no matter what the occasion is we have a range of rooms that can be as private and intimate as you require for smaller parties to larger rooms for more extravagant banquets for up to 120 guests.
This room is oak panelled and is ideal for that small meeting or interview. Suitable for up to 14 guests on one large table.
This room can also interconnect through to our Bistro.
Our recently refurbished bistro can seat up to 20 guests on one large table or up to 26 guests on separate tables of 1 table of 14 guests and 1 table of 12 guests. Classically designed as a country house should be full of character with original features. This room will also interconnect through to our Study room.
The Golden Rooms
Our largest rooms within the hotel with capacity for 120 people dining. Overlooking our front lawns and letting in natural light. Beautifully decorated with opulent curtains and swags to intricate cornice work. These rooms also have the advantage of bi folding doors allowing the room to be split into one room for 60 guests and one room for 70 guests.
